David Longman
David is a qualified Neurophysiology Technologist who has specialised in
paediatric neurophysiology. He has several years of experience working within
Princess Margaret Hospital for Children where he received exclusive training
in conducting Paediatric EEG. He received his Bachelor of Science with first
class honours from the University of Western Australia majoring in Human
biology and Chemistry. David then had a brief career as a research scientist,
publishing several papers before completing the Graduate Certificate in Clinical
Neurophysiology.
GAIL SIMCOCK BSc (Hons), DClin Psych

Gail is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years experience working with children,
adolescents, adults and families.
Gail completed her Clinical Psychology training in UK at the University of Plymouth
(1997) before moving to Australia in 2002. In the UK she worked across the age
range in both community and hospital settings. Very early on in her career, Gail
developed special interests in the areas of Child and Adolescent Psychology and
Neurological issues. In the UK she was involved in the setting up and running of a
state wide service for the assessment of autism and autism spectrum disorders.
After moving to Australia, she worked in a clinic in Sydney which specialised in the
assessment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), where she carried
out cognitive assessments, attentional testing and qualitative EEG's.
Since her arrival in Perth, Gail has worked in both the government and private
sectors in both community and hospital settings. She spent three and a half years
working in Women's Health at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH). During that
time she gained a broad experience working with expectant and new mothers
particularly in the areas of post-natal depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders and
grief. She also worked with the Perinatal Loss Service, and the Gynaecology and
Oncology Services.
For the past 9 years Gail has been working part time at Princess Margaret Hospital
for Children (PMH) as part of the Paediatric Consultation Liaison Team, providing a
specialist Clinical Psychology service to patients of the department of Neurology and
their families. Gail works with children with a wide range of neurological conditions,
including epilepsy, non-epileptic seizures (pseudo-seizures), conversion disorders,
Tourettes Syndrome and tics, migraines and headaches, as well as acquired
conditions as a result of brain infection and trauma. She also works with children
with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and ADHD.
Gail currently co-runs a group for adolescents with chronic pain based on
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. She is also a member of a
Family Therapy group to patients and families of PMH.
For the past 7 years, Gail has also provided a part time service to a country Child
and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic.
Gail provides assessment, consultation and therapy to children, adolescents and
families for a variety of issues. Her areas of interest include:
Adjustment issues (e.g. illness, injury, major life transitions)
Anxiety disorders /fears including separation anxiety, generalised anxiety,
obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, phobias and social anxiety
Behavioural problems
Child abuse issues and trauma reactions
Depression
Family relationship issues
Grief/ loss
Problems with emotional regulation (e.g. anger management)
Pain management
Peer relationships
School problems, including school refusal
Stress
Gail is a highly experienced in working in collaboration with a range of health
professionals to provide the best service possible.
Gail is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
and the Psychology Board of Australia, and is a member of The Australian
Psychology Society (APS).
She is a registered Medicare provider.
